Plumber in Ledgeview, WI

Ledgeview at a glance

Ledgeview is a town of 8,820 people (2020 census) just south of the center of Brown County, about 7 miles from downtown Green Bay. It covers 17.5 square miles and borders De Pere, Bellevue, Eaton, Glenmore and Rockland, and includes the small communities of Kolb and Pine Grove.

What that means for your plumbing

Ledgeview grew from 3,363 people in 2000 to 8,820 in 2020, so most homes are recent. In 2000, 42.7% of households had children under 18, and family homes tend to be big users of hot water. If you're running short, see water heaters.

Higher ground and rural edges

Homes toward the town's rural edges may have wells, and newer houses usually have sump pits. Check both each spring, and keep the sump discharge clear of snow and ice in winter.

The town of De Pere becomes Ledgeview

Before 1839 the area was part of a larger township named Wilcox, after pioneer Randall Wilcox. From 1839 until 1994 it was called the town of De Pere, which caused years of confusion with the neighboring city of the same name, so in 1994 the town took the name Ledgeview. Unincorporated corners like Kolbs Corner and Pine Grove still mark old crossroads. Newer homes here are mostly built with plastic pipe, which handles freezing better than copper but can still split. If a line freezes, shut off the water before it thaws; see frozen and burst pipes.
